During Prohibition women were positively encouraged to drink, and the restrooms provided for them were called powder rooms (where they powdered their noses, presumably.) The name stuck and now the room, often for guests, with a toilet and sink, but without a shower or bath, is called a powder room. The meaning is meant to allude to another time and moment in fashion, and the old school beauty of the 1940s-1950s. Serpenti is on an undying request to remake and resurrect treasured fashion trends of the past and modernize them for the modern woman.
The Powder Room Bra is made from a white glitter tulle, with cotton lace trim at the hem of the ruffle that continues from the front onto the back of the garment. The bra closure in the back is the traditional hook and eye, and allows some room for adjustment. The Bra is transparent through the cups and unlined.
